STURDY BRIDGE Art Skool
A beginner's bridge into the artists, the histories,
and questions surrounding RM X SFMOMA
When RM described his hope for the upcoming RM x SFMOMA exhibition, as "a small but sturdy bridge for many," I took that invitation personally.
This first public showing of RM's personal art collection is rare: a private collection entering public conversation through one of the world's major modern art museums. SturdyBridge Art Skool grew from a simple idea: that fans of RM and BTS can meet this moment with curiosity, context and care.
This is not a comprehensive art course. It is a beginner-friendly place to gather a few meaningful entry points before walking into the exhibit. The site is designed as a first doorway, not the whole museum. Each artist page offers short context, memorable details, and ways to keep exploring.
We begin with six Korean artists connected to RM's collection and the coming exhibtion: Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rehyun, Kwon Okyon, Kim Yun Shin, To Sangbong, and Chang Ucchin. These artists carry rich, complex histories whose work will be new to many.
RM has described these artists as embodying "resilience, quiet rebellion and reflection...." As with 'Pied Piper', you can't resist that sexy brain so come prepare with me. Know before you go.
Welcome to Art Skool, ARMY. 💜

What this isn't:
An official museum resource, a comprehensive art history course, or a substitute for seeing the exhibition yourself.
How to use it:
Start with one artist, follow what catches your attention, and let yourself go namjooning: wandering with curiosity from one discovery to the next.
